On Light Lane, less than three minutes' drive from Terminal A; on the parking map it is along Route 75, north of the main entrance.

Follow the roadway signs to return the car at the Ground Transportation Center. After you drop it off, go to the third floor of the Ground Transportation Center and take the connecting corridor to Terminal A. There is no parking for personal vehicles at the rental car location: if you leave your own car to pick up a rental, park in one of the BDL lots and walk or take the shuttle to the Ground Transportation Center, which is easy to reach from the Parking Garage and Terminal A. Wheelchair assistance to the Ground Transportation Center can be requested through your airline on landing or at the rental counter when you return the car.

The airport's address is Schoephoester Road, Windsor Locks, CT 06096, about a 15-minute drive from both Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA. From every direction the airport's short directions end on I-91 at Exit 40: from the south take I-95 North to I-91 North, from the north I-91 South, from the west I-84 East to I-91 North.
The airport's own parking, BDL sPARK, takes no reservations: you arrive and park. The airport says its posted rates include all taxes, with no hidden fees, and start at $7 a day, and suggests checking parking availability on its website before you head to the airport. Off the airport, Z Airport Parking takes optional reservations, which guarantee a space.
Lot 5B is an overflow lot just north of the Cell Phone Lot on Light Lane, open only when needed. It posts only a weekly rate, $35 for 6 to 7 days, paid at the cashier on entry by credit or debit card. It was closed when we checked on Oct 16, 2026, so it is not in our price comparison. The parking map also shows overflow Lots 5A and 5D, with no rates posted.
The airport is expanding Surface Lot 3 on Schoephoester Road by about 14 acres, which will add more than 1,500 spaces and about twenty percent to the airport's total parking. In a post dated September 9, 2026, the airport said construction was approaching its midpoint and would be completed in the winter.
sPARK Rewards (the official frequent-parker program): a one-time $30 fee buys an automated pass for the easy-in, easy-out lanes, and you earn 1 point per dollar spent, counted after tax. In the airport's chart as of October 1, 2025, a free day costs 300 points in the Garage, 120 in Express Lot 1, 100 in Lot 2, 80 in Lot 3 and 70 in Lot 4. A redemption does not reserve a space.

The Ground Transportation Center, next to Terminal A, includes 830 public parking spaces, more than half of them covered. The airport does not say which BDL sPARK lot or rate these spaces belong to.
