Return the car at the Rental Car Center, then take the free rental car shuttle to the terminal. Shuttles run 24/7, every 10 minutes, and use the commercial lane outside level 1 of the terminal. The shuttles are wheelchair accessible.

Disabled parking: with a valid placard, the first 24 hours in the garage are free and each day after that costs $11 (garage only). At the pay point, show your parking ticket, the placard and a valid state-issued ID; the placard holder must be in the vehicle. The Sunport has 78 accessible spaces across its parking areas.
Vehicle height limits: garage levels 1–3 are 6 ft 8 in and level 4 is 8 ft 6 in. Premium Economy is 8 ft 9 in and the arrivals curb is 10 ft 6 in. Basic Economy and the cell phone lot have no height limit. Commercial vehicles and trailers are not allowed in the parking structures or the cell phone lot.
Payment: the airport's lots take cash, Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover on exit. The Basic Economy lot is self-pay at terminals and now also accepts tap-to-pay.
On-airport lots can fill up at peak times. During the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in October 2026, the Sunport reported all on-site lots full, with limited availability expected through Monday, October 12, and advised travelers to use off-site parking.
EV charging: in May 2026 the Sunport opened its first public chargers, two Level 3 DC fast chargers at The Holding Pattern cell phone lot, at 30 cents per kWh. It plans 18 more chargers across Sunport property and Double Eagle II airport over the following year.
If your car won't start, the Sunport may provide a jumpstart when equipment and staff are available. Contact the Parking Office.
Besides the cell phone lot, the free Aircraft Observation Area can also be used to wait for arriving passengers. It is on Spirit Drive, south of the terminal and just east of University.
Ride-share pickup is at Door 7 on the baggage claim level.
Public transit instead of parking: ABQ RIDE Route 50 (weekdays and Saturday) stops at the Sunport; Route 250 is temporarily suspended.
